HOUSING ASSISTANCE CENTER TO OPEN IN DALLAS/FT. WORTH
BATON ROUGE, La., March 7, 2007 - The Road Home program will host a news conference announcing the opening of the Dallas-Forth Worth Mobile Housing Assistance Center on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. The center’s purpose is to help residents of Louisiana affected by hurricanes Katrina or Rita get back into their homes.
Applicants of The Road Home are encouraged to schedule their appointments as soon as possible to take advantage of this opportunity. The center will be located at the Ruthe Jackson Center at 3113 S. Carrier Pkwy., Grand Prairie, Texas 75052, and will be open from March 12 through March 21.
Homeowners who have not yet applied to the program can start their applications to The Road Home by visiting www.road2LA.org or by calling 1.888.ROAD.2.LA (1.888.762.3252) or TTY: 1.800.566.4224.
Louisiana residents currently residing in the Dallas-Forth Worth area or other parts of Texas who have applied to the program, but have yet to schedule their appointments may do so by calling 1-888-ROAD-2-LA and choosing prompt #4. Homeowners who have made appointments at a Louisiana center have the option to reschedule those appointments at the Dallas/Ft. Worth location by also calling that number.

The Road Home program is designed to help residents of Louisiana affected by hurricanes Katrina or Rita get back into their homes as quickly and fairly as possible. This groundbreaking program represents the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history. Working together, Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, the Louisiana Recovery Authority and the Office of Community Development created The Road Home program with the approval of the Louisiana Legislature. The program affords eligible homeowners up to $150,000 in compensation for their losses to get back into their homes.
